Research Commissioner Philippe Busquin is to participate in the Changing Atmosphere conference on atmospheric pollution Turin, Italy, from 17 to 20 September this year.

The Eighth European symposium on the physico-chemical behaviour of atmospheric pollutants aims to build on Commission initiatives such as the Clean Air for Europe (Café) programme and the European Climate Change programme, organised by the Joint Research Centre in co-operation with the Research Directorate-General.

The event will provide a forum for discussion of the fate and impact of natural and man-made emissions and the regional and global impact of urban pollution. It aims to encourage collaboration between science, industry and politics in raising public awareness of the serious challenges posed by air pollution and climate change.

The event will include expert guest speakers on climate change and environmental issues, a press conference and a round table discussion.For further information please consult the following web address:
