11 October 2001 - 11 October 2001

A conference aiming to encourage the exchange of best practices in adapting to change and the management of change in European companies will take place in Paris, France on 11 October. The event is part of a project funded under the Fifth Framework Programme's Growth programme, 'Best practices in adaptation to changes,' or BEPRAC.

The event will highlight the issues of customisation, progressive cuts in manufacturing, increasing development of subcontracting, the product-service system, knowledge management and changes in functions and skills.

The conference will include two plenary sessions and eight workshops. Debate will focus on the main trends and requirements in European companies facing change, such as mergers, globalisation and networking.

Presentations will be made by representatives from the European Commission, SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises), research institutes, universities, unions and industrial federations.

As part of the BEPRAC project, a website has been created offering information on adapting to change, best practice exchanges and case studies. The conference programme is also available on this site at the reference below. To access the BEPRAC site, please consult the following web address: http://www.beprac.com(opens in new window)
