Spanish seminar to mark anniversary of EU gas research group

Representatives from the European Commission's Energy and Transport DG are to take part in seminar in Madrid, Spain, on 19 October, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the European Gas Research Group (GERG).
GERG was founded in 1961 to promote collaborative research and development (R&D) in the European gas industry. Its priorities include: technology and innovation, networking and technical information exchange. It also promotes of collaborative projects in areas such as security of supply, environmental protection and safety.
Chief Executives from the European gas research community, international gas institutions and representatives of the Spanish government and gas industry will also take part in the event.
