The European Commission is to present the results of a new study on how successful small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) use information and communication technologies (ICTs) to gain competitive advantage, at a conference in Brussels on 17 December 2001.

PLS RAMBØLL Management carried out detailed case studies for the European Commission on 70 European enterprises across five business sectors. The conference will present the main findings of the study. It will also examine issues such as how SMEs use ICTs to create business networks, how enterprises, industry associations and policymakers can work together to create competitive strengths for SMEs, and identify the main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for SMEs with regard to e-business.For further information, please contact:
