FINE Conference: The Future of Industry in Europe

A Conference on the "Future of Industry in Europe" (FINE) will take place on 1-3 December 1993 in Bochum, near Dusseldorf. It is organized by the Institute of Work and Technology (IAT), Germany, in conjunction with FAST, the Community programme in the field of strategic analysis, forecasting and evaluation in matters of research and technology.
On behalf of the Commission of the European Communities, the IAT has recently completed a study on "the Future of Industry in Europe". The study introduces new perspectives and suggestions on how European industry can hold its position or possibly extend it. Areas are examined in which political, administrative and business cooperative efforts are required.
The FINE Conference aims to bring together leading individuals from business, associations, politics and science to discuss new possibilities and directions for industry and industrial policy.
Results of the research undertaken by the Institute of Work and Technology will form the main subject of the Conference. First-hand information on current developments is available in meetings with experts from industry, science and the political sphere. The Conference offers excellent opportunities to exchange views and establish new ideas for future planning.
