The venue for a high-level European conference presenting examples of best practice in helping small businesses to 'go digital' has been switched from León, Spain, to Brussels.

The venue for the 20 June event has been changed due to an expected general strike in Spain.

The conference will examine examples of good national and regional strategies in support of e-business for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), drawn from a benchmarking initiative launched under the Go Digital action plan as part of the wider eEurope 2002 initiative.

The event, organised by the European Commission in cooperation with the Spanish Presidency of the EU, will be opened by Enterprise and Information Society Commissioner, Erkki Liikanen.The final benchmarking report will be published on the following web sites on 12 June:
