Conference to examine results of noise abatement project

A conference examining the methods and achievements of the Austrian SYLVIE (systematic noise abatement in inner city residential areas) project will take place in Vienna, Austria on 24 and 25 October.
The conference, 'New approaches and achievements in urban noise abatement', will present the cooperative procedure to noise abatement, the first time such an approach had been taken to address the problem. The SYLVIE project, which involves both those responsible for making noise and those disturbed by it, was funded by the EU's 'Life' programme.
The event will provide an opportunity to present SYLVIE and discuss innovative methods of noise abatement with experts from across Europe.For further information, please consult the following web address:
