The German chamber of industry and commerce (DIHK) will hold an introductory event to the Sixth Framework programme (FP6) on 4 December in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The day will offer the opportunity for business representatives to learn about the goals and priorities of FP6 as well as the rules of participation.

The event will give a special focus to small and medium sized enterprises, some of which remain unsure whether they will be able to participate successfully in the new structures and instruments. DIHK believes that participants should take the opportunity to benefit from the know how in other countries and to form new networks.

During the first half of the event, 'the political dimension', high level representatives from the European Commission and the Federal Ministry for Education and Research will present the new framework programme and the new opportunities it offers for strengthening international cooperation. This session will attempt to answer the question of to what extent high tech growth can be initiated or flanked under EU programmes.

During the second half of the seminar, the focus will be on the entrepreneurial dimension. Experts will be available to answer any questions.

Throughout the day, several organisations, including CORDIS and national contact points, will be present in order to provide further information on FP6.For further information, please visit:
