The European Space Agency and the University of Greifswald are jointly organising a space weather forum in Berlin on 4 November.

The forum is being held as part of European science and technology week, a European Commission initiative taking place from 4 to 10 November.

At the event, experts will discuss space weather and the effects it can produce, such as electronic equipment failure, power cuts and damage to railway control systems.

Participants will also address questions such as:
- How does space weather influence our own terrestrial weather and climate?
- Is there a connection between space weather and natural disasters?
- Are mobile phones affected by space weather?
