Fortnight of science and technology

The University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) has announced the fourth science and technology fortnight, which will run from 18 to 30 November at Vila Real, Portugal.
This event includes the Portuguese National Day of Science on 24 November, which was chosen to mark the birth in 1906 of Rómulo Vasco da Gama de Carvalho.
The programme focuses on the development of a strong link between the university and the private sector. The opening session will be attended by Portuguese Minister of Science and Higher Education, Pedro Lynce de Faria and Jürgen Rosenbaum from the European Commission.
A mini forum on life science will be held on 25 November. The forum aims to promote a close relationship between UTAD and high schools and will include a 'Science TV' programme as well as several scientific and technological films that will be showed and commented on by experts.For further information, please contact:
