A national conference to launch the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) in Italy will be held in Rome on 6, 9 and 10 December.

The event has been organised by the Italian national research council (CNR), the University of Rome 'La Sapienza', the University of Rome 'Tor Vergata' and the Italian agency for the promotion of European research (APRE).

The conference will include presentations on each of the seven FP6 thematic priorities, discussions on mobility and the Marie Curie programme, research infrastructures, international cooperation and political support. Additional presentations will be made by chancellors of both universities, the president of APRE, MEP and member of the Parliament's industry committee, Giuseppe Nisticò, the president of CNR, the spokesperson for EU Research Commissioner Philippe Busquin, and Paolo Blasi from the European research advisory board (EURAB).For further information, please visit:
