The Greek National Documentation Centre is organising a series of events to introduce the objectives and the opportunities of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6), the first one taking place in Athens, from 18 to 19 December 2002.

The National Documentation Centre is a National Contact Point for FP6. It is organising the event in collaboration with the General Secretariat of Research and Technology. The event will focus on the thematic priority areas of life sciences, genomics and biotechnology for health on the18 December and information society technologies (IST), research infrastructures and new and emerging science and technologies (NEST) on 19 December.

IST, NEST and research infrastructures will also be the subject of the second event in Thessaloniki, on 20 December, which is co-organised by the National Documentation Centre and the Thessaloniki Technology Park, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of Research and Technology.

The events will offer the opportunity to experts from academia, research institutes, industry and governmental organisations, to be informed about the objectives and the priorities of FP6, the new instruments (integrated projects and networks of excellence) and the first calls for proposals.

The events will feature speakers from the European Commission (DG Research and DG Information Society) as well as from Greek universities and research centres. For further information, please contact:
