The Bouches-du-Rhône regional council and the regional delegation for research and technology have organised an information day on the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6), which will take place in Marseille on 21 January 2003.

The event will run throughout the day and will provide interested participants from the region with precise and practical information concerning the funding instruments and the implementation of FP6.

Speakers include: Jean-Noël Guerini (President of the Bouches-du-Rhône regional council); Marie Odile Ott from CNRG (Centre National de la Recherche Génomique); Paul Jamet, national coordinator for FP6 in France (French Ministry for Research and new Technologies); Christophe Thévignot, representative from CORDIS and Victoire Teisserenc from the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) office in Brussels.

The programme includes topics such as the rules for participating in FP6 and the Marie Curie actions. A number of workshops will also take place during the day and will cover the following subjects: sustainable development, climate change and the ecosystem; food quality and safety; genomics and biotechnology in the health sector.For further information and to receive an application form, please contact:
