Two information sessions will be held in Portugal on how to take advantage of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6), the first in Porto on 27 January and the second in Lisbon on 28 January.

The events will include the participation of the Portuguese Minister for Science and Higher Education, Pedro Augusto Lynce de Faria, senior representatives from the European Commission, and a presentation by CORDIS, the Community research and development information service.

Parallel sessions in the morning and afternoon will cover the following thematic priorities:
- life sciences, genomics and biotechnology for health;
- information society technologies;
- nanotechnologies and nanosciences, materials and production processes;
- sustainable development, global change and ecosystems;
- aeronautics and space;
- food quality and safety;
- horizontal research activities involving SMEs;
- human resources and mobility.
