Bioethical implications of global mobility conference
Bioethical implications of globalisation processes (BIG), funded under the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) for research, will anticipate the major reasons for bioethical concern regarding globalisation, forecast future scenarios and formulate new policy options in this field. It involves partners from six Member States and the United States.
The project aims both to raise short-term, tactical considerations and to provide a longer-term, strategic perspective on the subject. The project intends to achieve this aim by convening expert meetings and sending out questionnaires. A high-level seminar involving a selected audience of policy-makers will conclude the study.
The conference is the first expert meeting of the project and it is devoted to the bioethical implications of global mobility.
The main topics on the conference agenda include:
- Mobility in the West,
- Health problems in mobile and other vulnerable populations
- Cross-border healthcare and illegal trade in the healthcare field. For further information, please contact:
