Prague to host information society conference

The sixth local and regional information society conference (LORIS) and the national internet in public administration conference (ISSS) are taking place in Prague and Hradec Králové from 23 to 25 March.
The main goals of the ISSS/LORIS 2003 are to:
- Promote the information society technologies and services in public administration;
- Evaluate the progress in eGovernment;
- Prepare the framework for virtual twinning between EU and Central Eastern European Countries (CEEC) cities;
- Implement best practises and awards procedures to stimulate and increase the number of local authorities willing to participate in European projects;
- Promote partnerships.
There will be particular focus during the event on the collection, dissemination and transfer of relevant information and best practice relating to public administration services for citizens, business and tourists, in particular provided by web sites.
Local and regional authorities are invited to send descriptions of successful, interactive online public services. All the examples received will be featured on the conference website. The applications selected by the organisers with the assistance of external experts will be invited to take part in the conference exhibition.
The conferences are being organised by Vysocina Region in cooperation with the Union of towns and communities of the Czech Republic, the City of Prague and Triada Ltd.For further information, please consult the follow web address:
