18th annual Polis conference, Cologne, Germany
The event will present the progress made in overcoming barriers to sustainable transport, develop business models and legal frameworks for innovative solutions, and develop a vision for tomorrow's local transport. There will also be the opportunity to gather information about EU funded projects initiated by Polis members, and to network with other delegates.
Plenary sessions at the conference will focus on themes such as demand management, including road pricing; sustainable city and transport planning; freight management; safety; risk management, including floods and terrorist attacks; and alternative and flexible transport systems.
Round table discussions will provide for debate on issues such as alternative fuels and the progress of hydrogen, and Galileo applications. Organisers have also opened a call for papers - papers should focus on the following topics: financial engineering; legal barriers; technological aspects; city planning.
Abstracts should be submitted in response to the call before 30 April, and should not exceed two pages. Notification of selected papers will be made in May.For further information, please consult the following web address:
