EU-US cooperation on agenda of Europe's largest ever geosciences event

The EGS-AGU-EUG joint assembly 2003, the largest ever event on geosciences to be held in Europe, will take place from 7 to 11 April in Nice, France.
By holding a joint assembly, the European geophysical society (EGS), American geophysical union (AGU), and the European union of geosciences (EUG) hope to stage a unique event which brings together all of the geosciences for the first time.
Over 8,000 scientists are expected to attend the assembly and participate in more than 500 topical sessions covering a wide range of environmental research fields, such as climate change, natural hazards, hydrology, and ocean sciences.
Also during the event, the Research Directorate-General of the European Commission will hold two evening sessions looking at three key areas of environmental research with a high potential for joint EU-US cooperation: climate change, river basin management and operational oceanography.For further information, please
