The European Bioethics Institute (IEB) is organising an information day on biotechnology and bioethics for non-scientific members of the public on 20 May in Brussels.

The event will aim to demystify some of the concepts and technical terms surrounding biotechnology, such as stem cells, therapeutic cloning and supernumerary embryos.

It will help citizens make up their own minds about bioethical issues and participate in the ongoing debates at EU and national level.

Giving presentations on ethics, technical jargon and an overview of Belgian biotechnology legislation will be Doctor Pierre Depelchin, Biologist Isabelle 't Sertevens, and Carine Brochier from the IEB.For further information, please contact:
