An international symposium on ethics in biomedical research will be held in Helsinki, Finland, from 21 to 23 August.
The event offers an opportunity for those working in the field to evaluate the ethical issues raised by current practices in biomedical research, and is aimed particularly at biomedical students, senior scientists, ethicists, physicians and research nurses.
The speakers for the event are world class scientists in ethics and biomedicine, and discussions will focus around four key subjects:
- biomedical research as part of society;
- vulnerable groups as research subjects;
- use of genetic information;
