Hungary hosts bio-energy brokerage workshop

The European Commission's Directorate General for Research is organising a brokerage workshop for its bio-energy contractors on 16 and 17 October in Budapest, Hungary.

The workshop will gather researchers from universities, research institutes and industry, as well as policy makers, regulators, and other stakeholders, to review current projects in the bio-energy field and discuss the planning of future activities. Several sessions will take place throughout the event, focusing on the following themes:

- biomass resources and potential;
- bio-energy conversion technology systems - combustion, gasification and pyrolysis;
- bio-energy in the transportation sector;
- biofuels production;
- bio-energy chains: from biomass to energy production;
- socio-economic issues and standards development.

Discussions will also focus on increasing the participation of partners from candidate countries in the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6).For further information, please consult the following address:
