Commission conference on the environmental performance of EU industry

The Enterprise DG of the European Commission is organising a major conference on 'the environmental performance of EU industry', to take place on 24 and 25 November in Brussels.
Over 700 participants from EU institutions, current and future Member States, industry, non-governmental organisations and academia are expected to attend. Their aim will be to debate how industry has reduced its impact on the environment and what action is being taken to move towards a more sustainable structure of production.
High level panel discussions will therefore address two main issues: 'reconciling competitiveness and environmental performance: the industry responses', and 'ensuring the future balance between competitiveness and environmental performance'.For further information, please
