Modern biology and visions of humanity
The event, organised by the European Group on Life Sciences, will bring together experts from a wide range of disciplines, including scientists, psychiatrists, philosophers, sociologists, politicians, journalists, writers and poets.
Focusing on the emergence of biotechnology as a new industrial sector, participants will seek to answer the question: 'what is the impact of new knowledge on individual human beings, society, and humanity's perception of itself and its destiny?'
