A workshop on 'orientations of young men and young women to citizenship and European identity', organised by the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) project 'Youth and European Identity' will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on 8 July.

The project involves a multi-site investigation of identity and citizenship among young people in strategically selected regions in Austria, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the UK. The consortium will select two groups of young people, aged between 18 and 24, in each region. One will come from a random sample across all social backgrounds and career paths, while the other will comprise a highly educated group of young people on a career path that orients them towards Europe, for example European law or European languages. The project team will then use the two groups to compare 'ordinary' young people with those who have particular reasons for being pro-European.For further information, please consult the following web address:
