Seminar on EU funding for Innovation - a response from the regions

The European Regions Research and Innovation Network (ERRIN) is organising a seminar on EU funding for innovation, to be held in Brussels on 8 September.

The seminar intends both to explore future funding opportunities for regions and to inform EU policy makers of the factors affecting the value of European funding for regional economic development. The event is intended to address both EU institution and the regional actors.

Topics discussed will include:
- innovation dimensions of regional policy and the new structural funds regulations;
- European support for regional networking and clusters;
- regional actions in the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7);
- supporting SME start-ups;
- Nordic innovation best practices;
- intermediary technology institutes in Scotland;
