A conference on the knowledge-based economy, regional innovation systems, digital business ecosystems and complex adaptive systems will take place in Brussels, Belgium on 14 September.

The objectives of the conference are to explore new models of regional innovation governance in the context of the development of the information society. The event will also address new approaches, such as complex adaptive systems, and debate their relevance and implications for systems of regional governance, enterprise support and promotion of innovation.

Specifically, the conference seeks to address and answer questions such as:
- what are the various regional innovation models now in use?
