The European Patent Office (EPO), in cooperation with the Association of Engineers, is organising three public hearings on the future shape of the European patent system, to be held in Prague, Munich and The Hague.

The European Patent Office (EPO), in cooperation with the Association of Engineers, is organising three public hearings on the future shape of the European patent system, to be held in Prague, Munich and The Hague.

The programme of hearings is as follows:
- 25 October: Prague, Czech Republic (target group: innovative small and medium sized enterprises - SMEs);
- 2 November: Munich, Germany (target group: applicants and patent attorneys);
- 4 November: The Hague, Netherlands (target group: finance sector).

The hearings will consist of a keynote speech, individual workshops dedicated to specific aspects of the patent system, and a closing plenary in which results and questions will be discussed.

The aim of the workshops is to develop a clearer picture of the views, concerns and ideas of users of the European patent system about its future shape and evolution.For further information, please consult the following web address:
