VALUE: Kinetic sensors workshop

A one-day workshop on the subject of kinetic sensors is being oganized by the German VALUE Relay Centre VDI/VDE (North Germany Region). The event will take place at the Centre for Microtechnology of the University of Chemnitz-Zwickau on 23 March 1994.

The workshop programme includes introductory sessions both on the relevant Commission actions in the field of sensors, and on the particular field of kinetic sensors, plus a description of the state-of-the-art of RTD in that field in Switzerland (presented by the University of Neuchatel), as well as a presentation of results from the ESPRIT and BRITE/EURAM programmes.

It is expected that companies interested in technology transfer agreements in the high-technology area of kinetic sensors will take advantage of this event to become familiar with the latest RTD results and discuss possible exploitation with the owners.

Presentations at the event will cover:

- Multi-axial monolithic integrated accelerometer (FhG ISIT BERLIN);
- Development of basic fabrication technologies and simulation tools for micromechanical devices (DAIMLER BENZ AG);
- Application modular integrated sensors (ELMOS GmBH);
- Development of an intelligent capacitive sensor for airbag accelerometer (SAGEM-PARTS).
