Seminar on European funding for plant genomics and biotechnology research

The UK department for environment, food and rural affairs (DEFRA) is helping to organise a seminar on the opportunities for European funding for plant genomics and biotechnology research in the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, London, on 25 January.
The event will concentrate on the future of plant research, including information on projects that are laying the foundations for initiatives under FP7, and presentations by national contact points and scientists who have already won funding under FP6.
Discussions will focus on:
- the opportunities within the framework programmes;
- what makes a good proposal;
- lessons learned from previous calls;
- partner searching;
