A European forum on energy-efficient urban transport systems will take place on 5 May 1994 in Strasbourg. The forum will examine transport as a prerequisite for the future development of cities. Topics include:

- Activities of the THERMIE programme for the urban transport sector;
- Energy efficiency and the protection of the environment;
- Non-conventional transport systems for commuters.

The forum will be held within the OPET (Organizations for the promotion of Energy Technologies) framework which links forty private and public organizations located in the twelve Member States and the thirteen European Energy Centres in Central and Eastern European countries.

The objective of this forum is to present successfully implemented solutions to urban transport problems which pay particular attention to energy conservation and environmental protection.
