The 10th International Innovation Week, "INOVA 94" will be held in Paris on 7-9 June 1994. The event is being organized with the support of the SPRINT programme and will be addressed by European Commission Vice-President Martin Bangemann.

"INOVA 94" will be organized into several seminars and conferences on the international supply and demand in technology. The following topics will be examined:

- Prospective trends and technology monitoring for improving the cycle of innovation and progress.
- Strategy for innovation, alliance and co-operation for acquiring and exchanging technologies. Whether they are large or small, companies need to find new synergies and ways to cooperate. Smaller companies, often more dynamic and more innovative, play an increasing part within multiple networks of alliances.
- Practice, methods and costs of technology transfer.
There is always a gap between theory and practice.
How does a company become involved in technology transfer? What are the potential pitfalls and risks? What are the financial and legal obstacles to be overcome?

As a meeting point between supply and demand, INOVA's Technology Transfer Area will be an opportunity for companies to gather information and have access to the technology market. As a single company often acts as both supplier and user of technology, INOVA 94 makes it possible to establish profitable contacts and exchanges, to test the network services, to meet and find partners and to establish links with French, European and international technology expertise centres.

Innovation, technology monitoring and technology transfer involve a great deal of national, European and international partners. They are often associated or organized into networks which companies and industries, especially small and medium-size ones, cannot always easily identify or join. Among other objectives, "INOVA 94" aims at promoting these networks.
