A seminar on technology exploitation case studies will be held at the Irish VALUE Relay Centre in Dublin on 18 May 1994.

New and improved technology is an essential element in creating industrial competitiveness. Developing new technologies and transferring successfully developed technology involves both financial and technological risks. The European Commission has made a considerable investment in the development of new technologies. Over 20,000 individual research projects in areas such as electronics, telecommunications, agro-food, energy, biotechnology, industrial processing and the environment have been supported throughout the Member States.

The exploitation of the successful projects is a priority throughout the Union. The experience gained in this process suggests that one of the most effective mechanisms is to base exploitation strategies on successful case studies.

This seminar will gather together a number of such case studies with the objective of facilitating exploitation of suitable technologies within EU and national programmes. The morning case studies will be drawn from the major industry-orientated EU programmes such as BRITE/EURAM and ESPRIT and those in the afternoon from national programmes. There will be opportunities for discussion throughout the seminar.
