THERMIE projects on show at offshore technology conference, Houston

The annual Offshore Technology Conference and Exhibition organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers will take place on 2-5 May 1994 in Houston, USA.

The conference features technical sessions addressing important offshore technology and business management issues, while the international exhibition is a world showcase for the service and supply industry to display the latest products and services. Over 1,250 companies from 20 countries will be exhibiting at the four-day event.

The European Union display at Booth 6277 will feature the projects of twelve EU companies (a mixture of SMEs and THERMIE contractors):

- An oil-water separator (NEYRTEC Industrie, France);
- An automated guidance system for directional drilling (Cambridge Radiation Technology, UK);
- The HYDRA diver video camera and the SUPER-ACHILLES remote observation vehicle (COMEX SA, France);

- The TV TRACKMETER stereoscopic measuring device (SAIPEM, Italy);
- OIL SWALLOW, a floating, independently-operating oil and chemical spills recovery unit (Willser Pollution Control Systems, the Netherlands);
- The FG-2000 fire and gas emergency shut down integrated system (SES ENSER, Italy);
- A database for modelling the influence of gas forces from labyrinths, seals, impellers, and casing details on the rotor dynamics (Odegaard & Danneskiold-Samsoe, Denmark);
- Oceanographic data services (Hydromod Scientific Consulting, Germany);
- UltraSIM software/P-scan ultrasonic equipment and free span/burial instrumentation tool (Force Institutes, Denmark).
