A world conference on science and technology parks - 'Global innovation: the role of science and technology parks', will be held in Beijing, China, from 18 to 21 September.
Organised by the International Association of Science Parks (IASP), the conference programme includes four plenary sessions on the following subjects:
- science parks and human resources: attracting, training and retaining talent;
- the human environment for developing technology and stimulating innovation;
- supporting small and medium size companies to compete in the global economy;
- the position of science and technology parks within innovation networks.
Nine parallel sessions as well as a technical visit to Zhongguancun Science Park are also foreseen.
The conference also includes a pre-conference workshop entitled 'setting up a science park: the first steps' where issues that are crucial to anyone planning or managing a newly formed science park (master plan, stakeholders, clients, incubation) will be studied. In this context, four successful science parks managers/planners, two from developed countries and two from developing areas will share their experiences and discuss with the participants the problems they have faced.For further information, please consult the following web address:
