Seminar on safer roadside engineering, Hungary
Organised by the EU funded RISER project consortium and the European Union Road Federation (ERF), under the patronage of the Hungarian Ministry of Economy and Transport, the purpose of this event is to discuss engineering good practices covering such areas as accident data analysis, preventive hazard identification and road safety audits. The presentations will be complemented with on-site field demonstrations of roadside engineering techniques applied to road sections open to traffic.
RISER (roadside infrastructure for safer European roads) is an EU-funded research initiative under the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5), the aim of which is to achieve a Europe-wide consensus on the design, implementation and maintenance of road safety devices based on a better understanding of collision parameters.
The workshop will primarily address road engineers, local and national road authorities, highway operators, traffic management consultancies and road equipment manufacturers. A copy of the final RISER guidelines summarising the result of two years of research will also be distributed to each participant.For further information, please visit:
