The final conference of the EU funded EXLINEA project, 'Lines of exclusion as arenas for co-operation: policies, practices and perceptions at the EU's new external borders', will take place in Brussels, Belgium on 8 December.

The EXLINEA project is supported by the European Commission under the Fifth Framework Programme, and studies cross-border interaction processes and patterns as well as various forms of cooperation practices in the Finnish-Russian, Estonian-Russian, Polish-Ukrainian, Austrian-Hungarian, Hungarian-Ukrainian-Romanian, Moldavian-Romanian border areas and Greece's borders with Albania and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).

Researchers from all EXLINEA case study areas and supporting research teams, as well as the project coordinator and the European Commission scientific officer, will present the various aspects of the project, assisted by a group of academic participants from different research disciplines and institutional backgrounds. A roundtable and general discussions are planned to encourage external experts and the public to contribute to comment on EXLINEA's results and their impact on EU policy, including the 'European Neighbourhood Policy' and the concept of 'Europe of the Regions'.For further information, please visit:
