The eleventh edition of the international society of microbial ecology symposium, 'ISME-11', will be held in Vienna, Austria, from 20 to 26 August 2006.
The 2006 edition of this symposium has for its central theme 'The hidden powers - microbial communities in action'. The event will be structured around some 20 sessions, featuring topics such as 'life in extreme environments', 'microbial genomics', 'global change effects on microbial communities', and 'microbes and detoxification'.
