The European patient conference on stem cells will take place in Brussels, Belgium, on 15 and 16 December.

For the first time, patients from 34 countries in the European Research Area are invited to participate with other stakeholders to discuss many of the issues and challenges relating to stem cell research and its therapeutic applications.

Organised by the European Federation of Neurological Associations, the conference will be conducted as an open and interactive forum. Seventy-five percent of the audience will be patients from Europe, whose conditions could be improved, or are already being improved, by stem cell therapies and treatments. There will be a particular focus on the impact of research on patients and their needs, whose views will be actively sought.

Janez Potocnik, European Commissioner for Science and Research will participate in the opening session of the conference.For further information, please visit:
