European research will be represented at the US' American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) event taking place from 16 to 20 February in St. Louis, Missouri.

European research will be represented at the US' American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) event taking place from 16 to 20 February in St. Louis, Missouri.

Representatives from the Commission's Research DG will give presentations on the following areas:
- building a knowledge-based bioeconomy: European and US approaches;
- international scientific cooperation for transition towards sustainable development;
- mouse functional genomics: toward a global collaborative effort;
- cardiovascular research: new challenges for international collaboration;
- women in industrial research: American and European perspectives;
- gender bias: obstacles to excellent research.

The Commission will also have a booth at the AAAS exhibition, and will organise a press breakfast and a cocktail.

The annual AAAS event is the largest multidisciplinary scientific conference in the world.For further information, please visit:
