Technology transfer day on technologies for the ceramics industry

A technology transfer day on technologies for the ceramics sector will take place in Castellon, Spain, on 19 May 1994.

The event is being organized by the Spanish VALUE Relay Centre, SGPN I+D, in collaboration with the local Chamber of Commerce. It is intended to bring the European Union's research and technology development results in the ceramics sector closer to businesses and SMEs which could benefit from their use and adaptation.

The results to be presented at this event have been chosen from the Commission's BRITE/EURAM programme and will include the following:
- Decision support systems for production islands based on CIM in SMEs (Human Centred Systems, UK);
- Operator-driven technological information systems for the continuous improvement of process planning (Tekniker, Spain);
- Machine management for improving reliability, availability and maintainability (Robotiker, Spain);
- Automatic system for tile-surface inspection and sorting (Bull Information Systems, Italy);
- In-process automatic quality control and product identification systems for traditional ceramics (Axiom Bildverarbeitungs Systems, Germany).

In addition to the presentation of results there will be a presentation on the place of the VALUE and BRITE/EURAM programmes under the Fourth Framework programme.
