The final START project event, funded by the European Commission's FP6 'aeronautics and space' priority, will be held in Ankara, Turkey, on 16 and 17 March.

The event is organised by TUBITAK (the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) with the support of the START project countries, and will focus on the path towards FP7, the START project and Turkey's potential in the field of aerospace research.

National Contact Points (NCPs) from nine START countries will give presentations on their respective countries' research potential with the aim of stimulating research collaboration between stakeholders. This will eventually result in projects that will be undertaken in FP7, the organisers hope. Speakers from several EU and non-EU countries will address the conference to discuss their experience in aerospace research, EU funded projects and their intentions for FP7. Turkish stakeholders will also be giving their experiences and outlining their potential involvement in future projects.
