International symposium on optical interference coatings
- OSA (The Optical Society of America);
- EOS (The European Optical Society);
- DRET (Direction des Recherches Etudes et Techniques - French Ministry of Defence);
- SPIE (The International Society for Optical Engineering).
At this symposium every aspect of optical coating will be examined, from the manufacturing and design techniques to the characterization and studies of their properties. These are extremely diverse, covering a wide range of the electromagnetic spectrum, extending from the x-ray to the infrared region. The use of optical interference coatings as protective coatings and their use in the field of high powered lasers will be discussed.
The symposium will comprise a series of technical conferences on the following subject:
- Advances in design and design techniques;
- Coatings for severe environmental conditions;
- Coatings for high-power lasers;
- Modelling of thin films and their properties.
This symposium is the second in an ongoing series in this area which began in Berlin in 1992. Grenoble was chosen as the location for this meeting because of the important activities in the manufacture of both thin films and physics that are particular to this city.
