"Energy for the Future" is the title of one of the eighteen conferences at "Vision EUREKA Lillehammer '94" which takes place in Norway on 14-16 June 1994

One of the main goals of the "Energy for the Future" conference will be to generate new initiatives within the field of energy technologies, including energy efficiency and renewable energy. The EU has three programmes which will participate in this event:
- THERMIE (programme for the promotion of energy technology in Europe);
- SAVE (elimination of CO2 emissions and increased energy efficiency);
- ALTENER (promotion of renewable energy resources).

The conference will include three parallel specialist seminars which will cover some of the main aspects of the current European energy and environmental situation:
- Renewable energy sources;
- Energy efficiency;
- EC power market policy.

Part of the conference will be devoted to a partnering event. This will offer an opportunity to energy and technology users as well as industry and R&D institutions to discuss the possibilities for cooperation. The OPET initiative will also participate in this event which will present an opportunity for new collaborative initiatives.
