Conference to address Europe's 'transport research arena'

A conference entitled 'Transport Research Arena Europe 2006' will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden, from 12 to 15 June.
The event aim is to align road transport research and development stakeholders, contributing to the European Research Area (ERA) on road transport. It is hoped that this will, in turn, play a role in creating a more competitive, sustainable, safer and efficient road transport system.
In addition to plenary sessions, which will see interventions from EU Commissioners and other high level speakers, the conference will host many thematic seminars. Subjects will include mobility in cities, integrated safety, environmental challenges, intelligent vehicle safety systems, new materials, passive safety, accident prevention, fuels and road infrastructure.
