A workshop, held in the framework of the 12th International Conference on Concurrent Enterprising (ICE) in Milan, Italy, will present some of the outcomes from the LEGAL-IST project, including legal tools relevant to Open Source Software development, and tools for collaborative networked organisations.

The conference runs from 26 to 28 June, and the workshop will take place on 27 June.

Funded under the Information Society Technologies (IST) section of the EU's Sixth Framework Programme (FP6), the LEGAL-IST project brings together business and management consultants, law firms and university law departments to address the legal issues raised by emerging technologies.

Research in the IST domain is delivering new technologies that are constantly changing the way businesses work and cooperate with one another. The creation of collaborative networked organisations (such as virtual enterprises, small and medium sized enterprise (SME) clusters and virtual professional communities) offers immense benefits to a wide range of organisations. However, the lack of a clear legal framework to support these new ways of working, or ignorance of related legal issues, may be hindering the full implementation of many new technologies. For further information, please visit:
