A conference to discuss how European universities and higher education institutes are responding to the Lisbon Strategy will take place from 24 to 26 September in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The event, 'Driving the Knowledge Society: How is your Faculty responding to the Lisbon Strategy?', will bring together academic leaders and managers in European higher education institutions to acquaint them with the latest developments in Europe's move to becoming a knowledge based-economy. The conference will also address the key issues contributing to success.

With keynote presentations and case studies from policy-makers, specialists in higher education, decision-makers in universities and the private sector, the conference will look at policy issues both at European and international level. It will also look at the practical implications of these policies, focusing on issues such as income generation for research, the future of graduate schools and the needs of the private sector.

The conference is organised by the Deans and European Academics Network (DEAN), a network of deans from European universities.For more information, please visit:
