A meeting on intracellular signalling in plants in will take place on 4 and 5 September in Sheffield, UK.

In the last five years there have been major advances in understanding plant developmental signalling pathways. The Arabidopsis genome sequence has greatly assisted the identification of components in hormonal and environmental signal transduction pathways.

The interaction between environmental signals and plant developmental pathways is an emerging theme which this meeting will address through the following sessions:

- signalling in the shoot apical meristem;
- Auxin;
- alternative signalling mechanisms;
- signalling and patterning;
