Investing in Europe's regions and cities

Some 135 regions and cities have teamed up with the European Commission's Regional Policy DG, the European Parliament and the Committee of the Regions (CoR) for a conference entitled 'Investing in Europe's regions and cities: public and private partners for growth and jobs'. The event will take place from 9 to 12 October in Brussels, Belgium, and CORDIS will be present with a workshop on 'promoting regional research and innovation'.

The conference programme includes 111 seminars, workshops and sessions. An 'Investors' Café' will also seek to bring together business investors and decision makers from local and regional government.

Regional Policy Commissioner Danuta Hübner will address the conference, as will President of the CoR Michel Delbarre.

The CORDIS workshop is aimed at those who would like to know:
- which organisations from their regions are involved in EU research projects;
- which are Europe's 'regions of excellence' in terms of technology start-ups;
- how some of the EU's most innovative regions are using CORDIS;
