Workshop on "Lowering of energy costs in urban wastewater treatment plants"

The Basque Energy Board, as a member of the OPET network, and the Greater Bilbao Water Board are currently co-organizing a workshop on the "Lowering of energy costs in urban wastewater treatment plants". This workshop is being held within the framework of the Community's THERMIE programme (DG XVII) and will take place in Bilbao on 23-24 June 1994.

The following issues will be addressed:

- The rational use of energy in sewage plants: Experiences in Europe;
- Sludge processing: Overview and incineration;
- Sludge processing: Dewatering and thermal drying;
- Energy management technologies in wastewater treatment plants and financial aspects.

The workshop is aimed at urban wastewater treatment plants management, at energy technicians and at all professionals dedicated to activities related to the field of sewage treatment plants.
