Greece
The Greek National Documentation Centre (EKT) and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki have organised an information day to introduce the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) to be held in Thessaloniki on 22 September.

The aim of the event is to provide academics, researchers, and members from industry and government with the latest information on FP7, before the announcement of the first calls for proposals, expected at the end of 2006.

Officials from the European Commission will give presentations on the following topics:
- 'Ideas' programme;
- role of the European Research Council;
- 'People' programme and the Marie Curie Actions;
- 'Cooperation' and 'Capacities' programmes.

Other presentations will cover health, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), socio-economic sciences and humanities, and research infrastructures.

The day will also be an opportunity learn about support activities and European networks that enhance participation in FP7.For further information and to register, go to: http://www.ekt.gr/en/news/events/ekt/2006-09-22/index.html(opens in new window)
